Unlike Koh Samui, where the island has a plethora of well established and highly praised five star hotels such as Tongsai Bay and Santi Buri, you'll have to search a little harder on Koh Tao to find your luxury boutique villa. There's nothing better than sitting back on your balcony or terrace and sipping a cocktail, with the sound of crashing waves rolling in and a warm breeze blowing through your hair. And if you're feeling adventurous, the resort can arrange day trips to visit the amazing limestone formations of Phang Nga Bay. Squeeze through narrow tunnels and see stalactites and stalagmites in these wondrous sea caves. You'll also be able to spot dolphins in the wild on a cruise to the island's northern coast.
